How to log in to a host at ps1

This page shows how to open a shell on a Compute Blade at ps1 from your own machine. It is for a visitor or a maintainer. It does not cover the welland hosts: their board pages give the command.

What you need

  • A machine with ssh.

  • The number in the blade’s name, such as 16 for pi16 at ps1.

Steps

  1. Work out the blade’s port. It is 1NN22, where NN is the number in the blade’s name: 11622 for pi16 at ps1.

  2. Connect as pi from your own machine. ssh prints a banner that holds the password, then asks for it.

    $ ssh -p 11622 pi@ps1.fpgas.online

  3. Type the password from the banner. The blade’s shell prompt appears, and sudo takes the same password.

Check

The prompt is the blade’s own shell, and it runs a command:

$ uname -m

If it fails
