Tiny Tapeout FPGA demo board test designs¶
You want to know which test designs exist for the board, what each verifies, and which script loads it.
This page lists the test designs under designs/ and the host scripts that load them. What the check runs, what it leaves running and what it needs, including every DIP switch off, is on fpgas-verify: the Tiny Tapeout demo boards.
Script names the file in the test-designs repository, and Purpose what it does.
Script |
Purpose |
|---|---|
Program a bitstream |
|
Program + UART bridge (PTY) + run test |
|
Program + release GPIOs + hand off to RPi GPIO test |
Test names the test, Bitstream its design, Wrapper the script that loads it, and What it verifies what a pass shows.
Test |
Bitstream |
Wrapper |
What it verifies |
|---|---|---|---|
UART echo |
|
Serial TX/RX via RP2350 bridge |
|
SPI Flash ID |
|
Does not apply to this board, which has no flash |
|
PMOD loopback |
|
GPIO inversion across wired pin pairs |
|
PMOD pin ID |
|
UART TX on each GPIO pin |
The pin ID test is on The pin-id design. How to read a scan’s output is on How to scan an Arty A7’s wiring with the pin-id design. The hardware verification script, verify_hardware.py, orchestrates the tests.
